Economic Releases - Index of Leading Economic Indicators

Even though I consider myself a technical trader, I recognize it's vitally important to be aware of the regular economic releases that have the potential to impact on my trades. As a short term trader, the impact is largely just due to volatility at the time of release, so the key information you need is simply:

* When is the release occurring?
* what level of volatility is reasonable to expect?

A great summary resource for that information is the economic calendar at  forex factory.

However, despite the above being the most important info, it can't hurt to have a basic understanding of what these economic releases are all about.
