Time Management - Randy Pausch |
|
If you're serious about achieving trading success, you'll need to master one of the key components of personal development and business management - that is, the concept of 'Time Management'. As a 'learner' trader, you face an incredibly difficult task as you try to balance your current career with trading education (basically two full-time jobs). And of course your other commitments don't disappear either - family, friends, sport, church. If you've got young kids like I do it seems there's not a day goes by without them needing a chauffer to soccer, keyboard or guitar lessons. Of course, you wouldn't trade that stuff for anything! Rather than cut back, you just need to get smarter about how you manage your most precious commodity - your time. You need to become a student of time management. I've been lucky enough to have a friend refer me to an absolutely brilliant lecture by Carnegie Mellon Professor, Randy Pausch, which deals with the topic of time management.
Randy Pausch was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in Sept. 2006, and was told he had three to six months of good health left. In this insightful and humorous lecture, Pausch delivers practical steps to ensure you get the most out of your time. This could be the most valuable investment of your own time in years. Just watch it, ok. Cheers, Lance.
