Blogs To Read Daily
The following are the blogs which I currently check on a daily basis. Not all post daily, but I always check them.
List effective December 14, 2009: (I'll aim to update this approximately once each quarter)
Trading Blogs:
Trade4Edge - Davin Clarke
Davin provides an exceptional blog which should be essential reading for all traders. His insights into market structure and the psychology behind higher probability trade setups is presented in a simple and easy-to-read manner.
This is an incredible resource for developing traders. Don't just read the blog. Go back and study the archives in depth.
(Interestingly, as I've prepared this list I've realised that this is the ONLY blog I read from a 'strategy' perspective. All others are read for their insights into trading psych, mindset or just general trading business principles.)
TraderFeed - Dr Brett Steenbarger
Dr Steenbarger provides a mix of trading psychology and trading techniques. While the trading methods he uses are generally not relevant to me, the trading psych material is excellent. Highly recommended. (I just wish I could tap into some of his writing energy and work ethic - you'll see what I mean)
Trader Psyches - Denise Shull
A focus on behavioural finance and applied neuroeconomics as it applies to decision making in the uncertainty of the financial markets. Brilliant. Unfortunately, there's often a long delay between posts, but it's almost always worth the wait.
Don Miller Journal
Not a lot about actual strategy (unfortunately, as I'd love to learn more), but incredibly inspiring and motivating. Don shares his daily trading journey in the form of a diary of his current thoughts and insights. What I most take away from this is his attitude of self-belief, focus and determination to overcome greater and greater challenges. Be sure to read the Key Posts listed approximately half-way down the left side of the blog.
TradingSuccess - Ray Barros
While Ray's trading methodology may not be relevant to all traders (including myself), everything else he writes should be mandatory reading - learning theory, decision making, psychology, money management. This is a great blog. Be sure to read through the archives.
Brian Hoffman Trading Blog
Fascinating blog. Although Brian trades a longer timeframe than I do, I very much like the fact that his approach is based on the principles of supply and demand. He shares his daily pre-market analysis and post-market results which show his actual executions. Brian has a very honest and open approach - sharing not only the good results, but also the bad. There's a lot to learn through following his journey through the struggles of execution, hesitation, mindset and decision making. Great stuff. If I ever share a daily blog of my trading results, I only hope it can be half as good as this.

Finding simplicity in the daily chaos of our lives. Love it!
